RDLAC Garden Room – @Studio_Bark The Garden Room is community project for Royal Docks Learning & Activity Centre in Newham, East London. This project is a charitable evolution of Studio Bark’s hugely successful Bark Live-Build 2015 project @ Warren Lodge, Norfolk. Studio Bark worked on this project because the whole team believes in the importance of community, diversity and education. Studio Bark have delivered a community garden space in RDLAC’s courtyard following a snappy two week live-build, in association with The University of East London. The structure itself is very simple, but incorporates a long pop-up hatch window (powered by reclaimed car-boot pistons), a modular (locally sourced) Douglas Fir skin and a modular green roof. Margin Collective’s charity pavilion is designed to raise awareness and resources for the Save the Children, Syrian child refugee crisis appeal, donations can be made to the appeal here. Over a snappy two week live-build, Studio Bark in association with The University of East London, will be getting their hands dirty to deliver RDLAC a Garden Room which will enhance their courtyard with a flexible space to be used for activities and events. Once built, RDLAC Garden Room will become a test-centre for UEL’s Architectural Technology course, who will be monitoring it over a full heating and cooling season to test the internal environment and ongoing energy usage. Cut and Construct made CNC flat pack spruce ply stands for the 2015 London Design Festival. The Aram Gallery is hosting 2°C, exhibition shows works from a wide range of design disciplines to reimagine the public communication of climate change. 2°C was brought together by Disegno magazine and designed by award-winning creative agency Universal Design Studio, curated by The Aram Gallery’s Riya Patel.  The exhibition includes work by  Dominic Wilcox,Ilona Gaynor, Maria Blaisse, Marjan van Aubel, Neri&Hu, Parsons & Charlesworth, PearsonLloyd, Ross Lovegrove, Sam Baron and Universal Design Studio.   Read More
